ABOUT DREAM BRIDE

Hi! I’m Jaylyn Scott, the proud owner of Dream Bride. I pursued my passion for fashion during my junior and senior high school years. I competed in various competitions, ultimately earning third place in the state of Illinois for two consecutive years. My journey continued to the summer of my senior year in high school when I was honored to be selected by my school to attend Yale University for business and entrepreneurship. I later obtained my BA in fashion design at Kent State University, minoring in marketing, and graduated magna cum laude in 2022. Throughout my college experience, I was fortunate to have a rewarding internship at A Bride's Design in Avon, Ohio, where I had the chance to create beautiful wedding dresses.

This experience further fueled my ambition to create Dream Bride, a place dedicated to helping brides find their perfect wedding dress. After graduating from college, I took a moment before launching my own business, but I have a solid foundation in various areas of fashion.

My professional journey began with an internship at Kohl's, where I had the opportunity to design women's sleepwear for several brands, including Sonoma, Croft & Barrow, and Lauren Conrad. Shortly after, I secured my first corporate position at Kohl's, where I designed sweaters and woven tops for juniors, as well as jackets, skirts, and bottoms for the women’s line, Croft & Barrow. My career progressed as I became the assistant designer for Sonoma, focusing on denim wear. I feel incredibly fortunate to have worn so many different hats at Kohl's, and now, in running my own company, I am excited to continue embracing a variety of roles and creative challenges!

My passion for fashion ignited at the tender age of seven when I witnessed my mom sewing a quilt. That moment sparked a lifelong love for design, culminating in a promise I made in my third-grade journal: "When I grow up, I will be a fashion designer." Even now, I hold onto that journal entry, using it as a constant reminder of my commitment to the vibrant world of fashion.
